The Key Bridge is the backdrop for President Obama's remarks urging Congress to pass the infrastructure piece of the $447 billion American Jobs Act.
The speech is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EDT.
The Key Bridge was one of 215 bridges found to be structurally deficient in the Washington area, according to Transportation for America.
A new report by the group ranks structurally deficient bridges by metro area. The report found that just a quarter of U.S. bridges, located in the largest metro areas, carry 75 percent of all traffic crossing a deficient bridge.
The report includes data on bridge conditions and traffic for 102 metro areas in the United States with populations of more than 500,000 people.
